2025-26 Qualifier - Ottawa

Date: Sunday, February 8th

Location: Paterson Hall, Carleton University (1125 Colonel By Dr.)

Cost per team:

• Base cost: $120
• Buzzer discount: -$10 per buzzer set
• Buzzer penalty: +$20 per buzzer set pledge that is cancelled within 48 hours of the tournament (in addition to not receiving the buzzer discount)
• Travel discount: -$10 per 100 km travel distance (no discount for distances below 100 km)

Notes:

• This is a post-secondary tournament. All players on a team must be full-time students at the same post-secondary institution. Students currently on co-op are permitted if they are registered as full-time students during non-co-op terms.
• NOTE: No team at the Championship may include any player who played for a different team in the Qualifier. Players who did not play in the Qualifier will still be eligible.
• For the Qualifier and Championship, we are asking teams to choose names for themselves instead of being identified by letter designators. Further instructions can be found in the registration form.
• The start time for all of our tournaments will be between 9 AM and 10 AM, and the end time will be between 4 and 5 PM. The exact start time will be conveyed in the logistics email sent to teams in the week preceding the tournament.
• To register your team(s), please fill out the following form. Teams should consist of at least 4 players. Teams may use this spreadsheet to see the current status of the field.
• The Guaranteed Registration deadline for this tournament is January 25th. Any teams that register on or before this date are guaranteed spots, subject to a preliminary field cap of 12 teams with 3 teams per school. We may or may not be able to accommodate teams that register after this date.
• The Late Drop deadline for this tournament is January 25th. Any teams that drop out after this date will still have to pay 50% of their registration fee.
• Teams may pay the tournament entry fee:
  • by cash on the morning of the tournament
  • by cheque (made out to Consensus Trivia) on the morning of the tournament
  • by e-transfer (to contact@consensustrivia.com) before or on the day of the tournament
